DIY Moon & Star Crayon Molds
Ramadan and Eid is a blessed time of month. It’s a month of fasting and praying but also a month of festivities. Sighting the moon is the biggest part of the holiday season. For it to begin and end, one must sight the moon, as Muslims go by the lunar calendar.
A fun activity to get children excited is Crayon Molds. With Ramadan and Eid falling near the end of the school year these days, it’s the perfect time to remodel those old broken crayons from throughout the year!
All you need is: •Crayons (label peeled) •Silicone Mold of choice •Baking Sheet Tray •Oven
You want to start by preheating your oven to 250°F. Now peel off all the labels from your crayons (get the kids involved to help, they will be excited to know they had a hand in creating something fun).
Then just break them up with your hands to fit the mold shape and size. Place them into the chosen molds. Place the filled molds onto a sheet tray and bake for 15 minutes.
Pull out of oven and allow them to completely cool for another 15 minutes before removing from molds. Pass them out as part of a Ramadan or Eid treat bag or enjoy them yourself.
Watch as your children are amazed by the beautiful blending of colors. Great for even babies with little hands for easy grip!
