Beef Fried Rice

This is my go to fried rice recipe. Usually eyeballed but due to many interested inquiries I thought I'd add the recipe for your convenience.

It's a definite favorite in our home especially with my husband who loves steak. Due to my families love of Asian food, I always have Asian sauces and ingredients on hand stocked ready to whip up when we have those sudden Asian cravings. A great quick recipe to feed a crowd or for a quick weeknight meal when you have to use up your veggies.

  • Butter

  • 1/2 lb Ribeye Steak (thinly sliced)

  • 1/2 tsp Cornstarch

  • 1/4 Green Bell Pepper (julienne)

  • 1/4 Red BellPepper (julienne)

  • 3 to 4 Mushrooms (sliced)

  • 3 to 4 Asian Mini Corn

  • 2 to 3 Bok Choy (Chopped)

  • 1 Carrot (sliced)

  • 1/4 Red Onion (sliced)

  • Handful Sliced Water Chestnuts

  • Handful Broccoli

  • Handful Sugar Snap Peas

  • 1.5 to 2 cups Cooked Rice or Cauliflower Rice

  • 2 Eggs

-Season your steak with salt/pepper and cornstarch then add your sliced steak to a hot pan with a little butter.

-Brown and cook for 5 minutes until slightly caramelized on edges and brown.

-Pull out then add your veggies with a little more butter on high heat and sauté in salt/pepper for another 5 to 7 minutes until slightly wilted, then pull out.

-Add a little oil or butter and crack in your eggs and scramble them then pull out.

-Now make the sauce in the same pan using:

  • 2 Mashed Garlic Cloves

  • 1 tsp Vinegar

  • Salt/Pepper

  • 1 to 2 tsp Sesame Oil

  • 1 tbsp Ketchup (or 1 tbsp Tomato Paste + 1 tsp Brown Sugar)

  • 1 tbsp Sweet Chili Sauce

  • 1 tsp Garlic Chili Paste

  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 tsp Oyster Sauce

  • 1 tsp Teriyaki Sauce

-Give it all a whisk and bring it to a boil then add your cooked rice or cauliflower rice and give it a mix.

-Now throw back your steak, veggies and scrambled eggs and give it all a good toss.

-Let it heat through, check your seasonings then serve garnishing with fried garlic, sesame seeds and green onions.

**You can alter to the veggies you like and the type of meat you like.

**Adjust the sweetness to your liking;

for less sweetness: cut the sweet chili sauce

for more: mix in a little brown sugar

**Fried Garlic is just sliced or chopped garlic fried in oil until golden brown, pull out and drain on a paper towel.

**Cauliflower Rice is just chopped cauliflower in a food processor. Just add the florets and pulse until they are crumbled to the size of rice.
